The Open Wine Project is an open source, community-driven study guide for oenophiles and an evolving catalogue of wine geography, ontology, and history. It is an Open Working Group project and an upstream aggregator of information for community and commercial use.

The Open Wine Project is a community organized around a shared interest—wine. We welcome people who want to explore, document, and improve our understanding of it, one experience at a time.
The site code is published under the MIT license. Referenced datasets and tools retain their own licenses, attribution requirements, and source histories; each catalogue record documents what is known about reuse.
